Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved tramadol for veterinary medicine. Alternatively, a compounding pharmacy can make smaller-dose tablets or an oral solution. If the dog is being given an oral solution, measure the medicine with a measurement device supplied by the veterinarian or the compounding pharmacy.
