Eli Lilly and Amazon Pharmacy have partnered to provide home delivery services for certain medications through LillyDirect. “When a provider prescribes any of these medications, they will prescribe it to LillyDirect, LillyDirect will take care of that patient and make sure that their prior authorization is done and really take care of that patient and then send that script over to Amazon Pharmacy,” said Tanvi Patel, director of Amazon Pharmacy.
Envisioning an Ideal Model for Retail Pharmacy
National Association of Chain Drug Stores, National Community Pharmacists Association, Walgreens and CVS Health address expanding the role retail pharmacy plays in the healthcare ecosystem, offering screenings, immunizations, chronic disease management and more. Rick Gates, senior VP and chief pharmacy officer at Walgreens, said, "This would not only make healthcare more accessible, particularly in underserved communities, but would also align with the broader goal of improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs."
Evaluating Community Pharmacy Quality
The Community Pharmacy Enhanced Service Network (CPESN) special purpose network, CPESN Health Equity, is currently using the Choose My Pharmacy system across their entire membership. Seguridad created the system to evaluate community pharmacies based on patient safety. The system could help patients choose the pharmacy with a patient safety profile that best fits their personalized health care needs.

Individuals who are interested in education session moderators can self-nominate by Thursday, April 4. Attendees who would like to volunteer for the first-timers sessions, poster judges and student mentors can self-nominate by Friday, April 12.
There will also be plenty of opportunities to network, gain actionable insights from quality leaders and earn continuing education. Plus, new for this year, a special seminar from PQA and Institute of Healthcare Improvement. PQA also offers a special 4-hour, pre-meeting workshop. Medication Use Quality Live, accredited for 0.4 hours of pharmacy CE.
