Ensuring hospitals are adequately staffed in all of their departments is essential every day and it becomes even more critical during times of crisis, like a global pandemic, or during times where it’s common for many staff members to request time off. For over twenty years, Indispensable Health’s day-to-day staffing service has provided pharmacy professionals to pharmacies of all types and sizes. We provide this service for a day here and there, weekend coverage, long-term assignments, permanent placements, and everything in-between.
Our philosophy is to help keep pharmacies staffed so they can continue to serve patients. Sometimes that means going above and beyond, and not only because of a pandemic or a holiday.
Recently we were contacted by an inpatient hospital pharmacy in need of an interim Director of Pharmacy in North Dakota. Indispensable Health’s pharmacy staffing service team was able to get an experienced Director of Pharmacy licensed in North Dakota, obtain a signed contract, and start work at the hospital in less than two weeks. This feat by itself is something we take pride in, but this is also all happening during the holiday season.
Another recent example of the flexibility and adaptability of our pharmacy staffing professionals is with a retail pharmacy we often work for in Michigan. They called Indispensable Health in need of a pharmacist to cover a shift the very next day; however, the pharmacist who usually works at that location on our behalf wasn’t available that day. This didn’t stop our Pharmacy Staffing team, though, and we contacted another experienced, professional pharmacist on our staff who was available and very willing to work the next day. The pharmacy was grateful not only for our quick action but for the pharmacist’s professionalism and the quality of their work.
Our Indispensable Health Pharmacy Professionals are all true heroes in their own right. They heed the call for pharmacies that are understaffed and happily fill that need because at the end of the day they know they are ensuring patients receive the best care possible.
Finally, those that have worked with Indispensable Health remember how well we take care of our employees as well as the pharmacies we serve. A shining example of this is a recent contact we received from a long-term care pharmacy that was experiencing a higher volume of work than they were used to handling. On their staff is a pharmacy technician that had previously worked with us as a pharmacy technician. That same pharmacy technician saw the need and informed management at the long-term care facility to reach out to us to help. We received a call on a Thursday afternoon, by that night had a signed contract with the long-term care pharmacy, Friday we had a staffing plan in place for them, and the following Monday our pharmacy professionals were on-site working. The pharmacy is now able to get caught back up on the extra work they were previously falling behind on.
Indispensable Health started the business by providing pharmacy staffing services to all types of pharmacies in need, and those roots have remained strong. We have continued to grow and branch out into other pharmacy services where our goal of providing the best patient-centric care remains central to everything we do. It’s an honor to continue to provide that care every day, but we are especially grateful to serve while persevering through a global pandemic.
