And here is our regular feature in which we highlight a different person each week. This time around, we note that Cardiff Oncology hired Fairooz Kabbinavar as chief medical officer. Most recently, he was the global head of research and development at Huyabio International.
But all work and no play can make for a dull chief medical officer. So in his spare time, Kabbinavar likes to collect antiques and art work. “I browse whenever I get a chance. I go to museums or galleries, but small ones. In the early days, I couldn’t afford to buy something, but now I can, sometimes, whatever my pocketbook permits. I like paintings and sculptures. I’ve collected Frederic Remington replicas. They make me really happy when I look at them. And I like to collect from other countries — India, Indonesia, Bali. Whatever that catches my eye.”
