The Bristol Myers Squibb and Pfizer Alliance is a worldwide collaboration that brings together two leading companies focused on cardiovascular disease with a shared vision to reduce nonvalvular atrial fibrillation-related stroke and treat deep vein thrombosis/pulmonary embolism events. This global alliance combines Bristol-Myers Squibb's long-standing strengths in cardiovascular drug development and commercialization with Pfizer’s global scale and expertise in this field. The alliance announced the start of the potentially practice-changing GUARD-AF study, a randomized, controlled trial in a real-world setting, to see if atrial fibrillation screening and earlier detection and diagnosis could impact the rate of stroke, as well as bleeding leading to hospitalization, compared to usual medical care. These opportunities break new ground, demonstrating their commitment to patients and to trusted leadership in this space for years to come.
