CVS Health to donate up to 1M period products through ‘Buy One, Donate Two’ program

CVS Health has announced a commitment to donate up to one million period products through a “Buy One, Donate Two” program as part of its ongoing efforts to address period poverty. Throughout the month of October, for every CVS Health brand period product purchased, CVS Health will donate two to communities in need through a partnership with Feeding America.

The program marks another step in CVS Health’s efforts to protect period equity, following the several bold actions the retailer announced just one year ago – including reducing the cost of store brand products by more than 25%, paying the menstrual tax on behalf of customers in certain states, helping to eliminate the tax on menstrual products at large and increasing access to menstrual care by offering new services at MinuteClinic and virtual care.

The "Buy One, Donate Two” program will be applicable for both online and in-store purchases. Donations will include a combination of CVS Health and Live Better by CVS Health period products based on each communities’ needs.

In addition to the “Buy One, Donate Two” program, CVS Health is collaborating with Marni Sommer, professor at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and author of A Girl’s Guide to Puberty and Periods, to increase education and help break the stigma around periods.
