Kinney Drugs receives CDM Certification from The Compliance Team
The Compliance Team, a CMS-approved, national healthcare accreditation organization, announced that Kinney Drugs, Gouverneur, N.Y., a large regional pharmacy chain with 100 pharmacies, has attained Clinical Disease Management Exemplary Provider Certification.
Clinical Disease Management is a value-based care program that verifies and validates a pharmacy meets and/or exceeds the established quality standards for delivering focused, high-quality disease management care. The goal of CDM is to improve operational excellence and outcomes in pharmacy clinical practices through proactive medication management, coordination between the pharmacy and the prescribing team and increased interaction between the pharmacy and the patient.

CDM aligns with pharmacies that have embraced the value-based care model, moving from transaction-based practices to clinical-based services. Since 2008, Kinney Drugs has attained multiple TCT accreditations, including Patient-Centered Pharmacy Home in 2017. PCPH is TCT's proprietary, value-based care accreditation program focused on advanced pharmacy practices with chronically ill patients. CDM certification is yet another step Kinney Drugs has taken to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to continuous quality Improvement.
