Hoping to accelerate the drug delivery process, production is expected to begin as early as 2025.

SGD Pharma, a pharmaceutical packaging company, has entered into an agreement with Corning Incorporated, a glass manufacturer who produces tubing and vials. With production expected to start as soon as 2025, this will open up nearly 150 new jobs; the goal of the deal is to provide a quicker drug delivery experience to not only customers in India, but internationally as well.

Taking place in the Indian state of Telengana, the partnership will combine Corning’s pharmaceutical tubing technology with SGD Pharma’s glass vial manufacturing and converting expertise.

“We are excited to bring this collaboration with SGD Pharma to Telangana,” says Sudhir Pillai, managing director of Corning India. “Together, we’ll be working to accelerate the delivery of critical drugs while also improving the quality of pharmaceutical packaging.”
